How it Works

Your Moving Day Arrival: 8-10am (typically) | Removal: 4-6pm (typically)

The container(s) are delivered to your residence on a flat bed trailer and remain on the trailer for parking space. As the trailers range in size from 36 to 53 feet in length, you must ensure there is adequate space for the trailer.* In most cases, this will be on the street in front of your house. The area must be free of overhanging wires and tree branches once arriving at your residence, the driver will unhook the tractor and will leave the trailer in the designated spot.

*Please note that it is your responsibility to obtain a parking permit at origin for the trailer (if required) in order to leave the trailer on the street for the 8 hours.

8, 9, 12 foot Containers

01. Loading your container(s):

Two walk boards are provided with the Flexible Move trailer in order for you to load the container(s). As the walk boards are heavy, you will need at least 2 people to lift them out of the walk board racks and place onto the container. If you are loading more than one container, you will need to move the walk boards and place them onto the second container.

Each container will arrive with quilted furniture pads, skins, and straps. The Container Sizes Section of this web site details the amount of equipment that comes with each container. The quilted furniture pads can be used for wood furniture pieces and upholstered items such as chesterfields and chairs. The burlap skins can be used for sturdier items such as exercise equipment and garden tools.

The straps should be used to tie off your shipment once all of the items have been loaded in the container(s). There are clips on the inside of the container walls to attach the straps to.
Tip: load heavier furniture pieces/boxes on the bottom and lighter pieces / boxes on top.

Once your shipment has been loaded, remove the walk boards and place them back in the designated rack on the trailer.

02. Securing your container(s) after you have completed loading:

Close the container door, turn the latch, and insert your own lock. This will ensure the privacy of your goods, while the container(s) are in our possession.
Double Check: Make sure the top latch is secure before applying your lock.

03. Removal of your container(s) once loaded:

The driver will return after your 8 hour period of loading is complete to reattach the tractor and return to our secure facility.

Move-In Day (to your new city) Arrival: 8-10am (typically) | Removal: 4-6pm (typically)

When your container(s) reach the destination service centre, a representative will call you to make delivery arrangements. Normally, we offer you 1-3 days to select from, so that you can pick a day that suits your schedule best.

05. Unloading your container(s):

The container(s) will arrive to your new residence on a flat bed trailer and remain on the trailer for unloading. As the trailers range in size from 36 to 53 feet in length, you must ensure there is adequate space for the trailer.* In most cases, this will be on the street in front of your house. The area must be free of overhanging wires and trees. Once arriving at your residence, the driver will unhook the tractor and will leave the trailer in the designated spot.

*Please note that it is your responsibility to obtain a parking permit at destination for the trailer (if required) in order to leave the trailer on the street for the 8 hours.

Two walk boards are again provided with the Flexible Move trailer in order for you to unload the container(s). As the walk boards are heavy, you will again need at least 2 people to lift them out of the walk board racks and place onto the container. If you are unloading more than one container, you will need to move the walk boards and place them onto the second container. Remove the lock(s) that you placed on your container(s) prior to unloading.

When you have completely unloaded the container(s), please ensure all of the quilted furniture pads, skins and straps are neatly returned.

Once your shipment has been unloaded, remove the walk boards and place them back in the designated rack on the trailer.

06. Removal of your Container(s) once unloaded:

The driver will return after your 8 hour period of unloading is complete to reattach the tractor and return with the empty containers to our secure facility.
